Rahn has been in the broadcast radio business since 1978 is partner in the radio consulting firm SBR Creative Media, specializing in music, programming, marketing, research and new media strategies for broadcast radio stations.
In 2000, Rahn and his partner John Bradley created a service called "Custom Channels" designed to help broadcast radio stations and other clients create and webcast specialized, Internet-only "side channels" to augment their over-the-air programming. Custom Channels combines traditional radio and music programming expertise with streaming media technology to help broadcast properties extend their brand onto the internet.
Long a proponent of streaming for broadcast radio stations, Rahn and his company provide a turn-key service which includes programming, production, encoding, streaming, DMCA compliance and DMCA webcast royalties and record-keeping in a single package.
Rahn has been a presenter and panelist at industry gatherings including NAB, Radio and Records, Radio Ink, and Streaming Media West on topics involving radio and streaming.
