Footage.net Rolls Out Clip-Sharing Capabilities to Online Stock Footage Search Platform

The newly released feature allows users to share clipbins via email, streamlining the review and evaluation of stock footage screening clips and supporting greater collaboration

Footage.net announced today that it has added a new clipbin sharing capability to its online stock footage search platform. The newly released feature allows users to share clipbins via email, streamlining the review and evaluation of stock footage screening clips and supporting greater collaboration.

"The clipbin has always been an essential organizational and productivity tool for footage researchers," said David Seevers, Footage.net Chief Marketing Officer. "And since our users are often working within larger production teams or sourcing footage on behalf of clients, this new sharing capability makes it easy for them to loop in decision makers, present content options and move their projects forward."

Once clips have been saved to a clipbin within the user's Footage.net account, sharing the clipbin is as easy as typing an email address. The recipient receives a simple, streamlined email showing thumbnail of the selected clips along with essential metadata regarding each clip. The recipient can then click on the clips to view them on Footage.netor link directly to the clip owner to initiate the licensing and acquisition process.

The addition of clip sharing compliments Footage.net's recent adoption of Solr search technology to power its online stock footage search and screening platform. The newly deployed Solr search engine allows Footage.net to better manage huge datasets, organize diverse metadata fields, perform a vast number of simultaneous searches and filter search results dynamically. It's also extremely fast, significantly expediting the footage search and discovery process for Footage.net's global user base.
