Blackmagic Design today announced HyperDeck Studio 2 and HyperDeck Studio Pro 2, new models of its popular broadcast disk recorders. HyperDeck Studio 2 is available now for US$995 and HyperDeck Studio Pro 2 is available now for US$1,995.

The new HyperDeck Studio 2 and HyperDeck Studio Pro 2 models include an attractive new machined metal design that provides a robust and professional looking product that better matches the design look of other rack mount products from Blackmagic Design such as the ATEM Production Studio 4K switchers, Teranex products and ATEM Studio Converter.

HyperDeck Studio 2 and HyperDeck Studio Pro 2 will be demonstrated on the Blackmagic Design IBC 2013 booth in Hall 7, Stand H20.

The US$995 HyperDeck Studio 2 model is the perfect SD and HD broadcast recorder with all the features of the previous model with the added benefit of the new attractive machined metal font panel plus a built in AC power supply. HyperDeck Studio is the perfect solution for post production, live production and broadcast for SD and HD recording and playback onto solid state disks in uncompressed, ProRes and DNxHD formats.

The new US$ 1,995 HyperDeck Studio Pro 2 is the advanced SSD recorder that supports 6G-SDI and HDMI 4K connections for full resolution Ultra HD recording and playback. Other features of this model include 4 channel SDI in and out, built-in high speed Thunderbolt connection, as well as a range of SDI, HDMI and analog in and out including standard XLR connectors for audio and timecode.

HyperDeck Studio models feature a beautiful, user friendly VTR style design with function buttons, a jog wheel for jog and shuttle, plus external RS-422 control. The high resolution LCD screen displays timecode and transport information, plus a full color thumbnail preview of the current clip in record and playback. Crystal look buttons give customers full transport control just like a broadcast deck.

HyperDeck Studio models fit easily into outside broadcast vans, mobile production racks or in a master control room. They are perfect for on set recording and viewing of dailies, or as a video server or for replays at live events. With Ultra HD rerecording and playback, the HyperDeck Studio Pro model is also perfect for digital signage.

HyperDeck Studio Pro models record to universally compatible QuickTime files in uncompressed 10 bit, 4 quality levels of Apple ProRes and DNxHD MXF and QuickTime. All recorded files can be used with virtually any editing, color correction or finishing tools, such as Final Cut Pro X, Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and more.
