Zype Emerges From Stealth Mode to Empower Premium Video Publishers to Build, Monetize, and Localize Owned and Operated Video Destinations

Develops Dynamic Player Technology (DPT) For Publishers To Target Consumers with Video Delivery Strategies Through Geo-Location, Licensing, and Device Data

New York(11 Dec 2014)

Launched out of stealth mode this week, Zype,cloud-based video technology service for premium video content owners to build, scale and manage direct-to-consumer streaming destinations, today announced Konami’s 4K Media Inc. and Digital Media Rights as initial partners using Zype’s technology to power their video destinations. Both of these companies have used Zype’s technology to customize a video destination that pulls in entire libraries from all video players and distribution end points, including Hulu and YouTube, into a discoverable consumer experience.

Zype was ahead of this trend having built its product to deliver direct to consumer video destinations in late 2013.  Zype gives premium video content owners the ability to deliver to any platform or device, without complex development, IT, or publishing management, while maintaining their brand with the consumer.

“Premium video is fragmented across too many platforms where the video owners don’t have the tools to manage nor monetize their own libraries to the fullest extent,” said Zype founder Ed Laczynski. “Zype is the most effective solution for managing a video destination, generating meaningful revenue models around video and localizing the delivery based on global rights and devices."

Zype’s cloud based service allows premium video publishers to import video from YouTube, Hulu, and native players, to power discovery, increase revenue, and optimize video delivery by device and location.  The Zype suite is a plug-and-play solution for publishers, creators, and multi-channel networks looking to extend their video businesses beyond YouTube, as well as premium content owners and licensors looking to move past distribution with a direct-to-consumer strategy.

Premium video publishers are now building and managing owned and operated destinations and apps optimized for video.   The Zype team believes that there are billions of dollars of under-monetized premium videos worldwide.   One such client – 4K Media Inc.’s YuGiOh.com, used Zype to expand their SEO footprint which helped drive 30% month over month organic visitor acquisition after launching their owned and operated destination with Zype. Additionally, they saw organic search driving over 50% of all new site visits and an 23% lift in video consumption across all other Yu-Gi-Oh! channels within 3 months of launch. Over 50% of all visitors return to YuGiOh.com multiple times.

“Working with Zype has allowed 4K Media Inc. to create an engaging online destination for the Yu-Gi-Oh! brand using the robust library of the animated episodes to foster organic discoverability,” said 4K Media Inc. Senior Vice President, Digital Operations, Mark Kirk. “Zype has enabled execution of the Yugioh.com online strategy for the coming years.”

Zype has also announced it’s newest technology product - Dynamic Player Technology (DPT). Dynamic Player Technology is an innovative new technology that identifies a user’s specific location and device and then delivers the video in a format and player as specified by the publisher, instantly, and without disrupting the user experience. DPT is vital for publishers who are delivering video globally, in multiple territories and using multiple players. For instance, Hulu players have limited monetization capability on mobile web browsers, but with Dynamic Player Technology, new mobile revenue streams can quickly be enabled, tested, and optimized. The same methodology applies to territories where a particular player might not have streaming rights or delivery capabilities.
