Vualto and Ramp Announce Strategic Partnership to Deliver Premium Video Performance on Enterprise Networks

United Kingdom(04 May 2017)

Vualto, specialist providers of video technology services for broadcasters and content owners, today announced a strategic partnership with Ramp, the leading provider of next-generation eCDN video delivery solutions for large enterprises. Through the partnership, Vualto expands their portfolio to include video distribution as a component of their end-to-end video solutions and services.

Expectations for video are constantly on the rise as consumers continue to embrace video in both their personal and professional lives. The demand for high-quality, stable video performance is forcing streaming video providers to address network bandwidth constraints that inhibit video consumption, especially inside the walls of the corporate network where video delivery problems are pronounced.

Vualto provide large scale video delivery systems for a variety of clients including governments and broadcasters. Their portfolio of services includes the set up and management of live and on-demand channels and the provisioning of WebTV platforms. These services usually deliver video to a large scale external audience via a content delivery network (CDN) but can also include multicast distribution for delivery to a corporate or large internal audience. Until now, video providers were faced with multicast solutions that were either prohibitively expensive or based on old or dying technology. Vualto have chosen AltitudeCDN™ from Ramp because it works with HLS and the latest HTML5 video players, technology that is up to date and able to be integrated with their clients’ existing solutions and infrastructure.

“I am delighted to be partnering with Ramp. In the past, the issue of delivering video within a bandwidth-limited network has been complicated, requiring a compromise on video quality and player features. With the AltitudeCDN products from Ramp, we are now able to offer a highly performant, software-based multicast solution to our customers worldwide,” said Camilla Young, Vualto CEO and co-founder.

AltitudeCDN is a software-based infrastructure for video distribution that optimizes bandwidth use across overloaded enterprise networks without the need for costly upgrades. The AltitudeCDN product suite includes Multicast+, the only multicast solution for HLS and DASH video streams, and OmniCache™, an advanced proxy caching solution for live and on-demand video. Both solutions support video streams from virtually any source and easily integrate with video platforms using a standards-based approach. Altimeter, the management console for AltitudeCDN, provides a centralized interface for configuring and visually monitoring in real time the status and performance of an entire enterprise CDN

“Vualto offers broadcasters and content owners a valuable portfolio of technology solutions and consulting services,” said Ramp CEO Tom Racca. “When incorporating AltitudeCDN multicasting and caching capabilities into customer solutions, Vualto helps ensure fast, reliable video performance on enterprise networks, such as that of the European Parliament, one of our first joint customers.”

Both Vualto and Ramp have been named in the Streaming Media 100 for multiple years, including the 2016 lists. Ramp was named an Innovator in the 2016 Aragon Research Globe for Enterprise Video and received an honorable mention from Streaming Media Magazine for its Best of NAB 2016 awards.
