The Only Thing Better Than Free Xumo Content Is Free Mobile Xumo Content

Xumo Unveils New Mobile App at VidCon, Allowing Users to Access Premium Digital Content from Wherever, Whenever

Irvine, California(24 Jun 2016)

It is said that one year’s VidCon attendee is the next year’s superstar. With the rapid ascension of digital entertainment as both a supplement and viable alternative to traditional cable TV viewing, it’s not hard to imagine a superstar or two will be emerging from this year’s conference. Xumo, the premier live and video-on-demand OTT service for the digital age, is demonstrating its passion for the digital space and its stars by expanding the Xumo platform’s digital content offerings beyond native TV integration to also include mobile. In fact, the Xumo iOS mobile app is making its debut this year at VidCon—with an Android version following in just a few months.

With the announcement of Xumo’s new mobile app, the digital content streaming leader is taking a giant step toward achieving true integration between TV and mobile. Xumo is already natively integrated into nearly 20 million smart TVs across the US and the Xumo mobile app will offer the same lineup of channels from the nearly 90 content providers already on Xumo—including FailArmy, The Onion, Mashable and newcomers to the platform like Cracked and Jukin Media’s Pet Collective and People are Awesome. The mobile app, like the Xumo smart TV platform, is free and requires no dongle or hardware of any kind besides your viewing device.

“In an era where cable bills have become comically huge, we’re pleased to offer free premium content via mobile in addition to TV,” said Colin Petrie-Norris, CEO of Xumo. “We live in an on-the-go culture so delivering content to the viewer wherever they are and whenever they want it aligns perfectly with our mission. Xumo’s new mobile app is TV to-go at its finest as it allows the user to access all of their favorite content from their smart phones at any time, personalize and customize their channels and share those channels over social with a responsive touch interface.”

Xumo will showcase its smart TV and iOS mobile experiences at VidCon. Take a tour, get hands-on with Xumo or learn more by visiting booth 1315 in Hall C. To book a private demo walk-through of the mobile app and learn about new content partners, contact davidf@lfpr.com.

In addition to the mobile iOS and upcoming Android app, Xumo is natively integrated into smart TVs from LG, VIZIO, Panasonic and Funai Electric Co., Ltd. who manufactures and sells Sanyo, Magnavox and Philips in North America. The platform has nearly doubled its content catalogue this year alone as a result of the company’s relentless quest to add premium content from the best, most entertaining providers.
