Streaming Video Alliance Goes to Hollywood: Announces Next Meeting at Iconic FOX Studios

The Following Preview Has Been Approved for All Audiences: Industry Leaders From Online Video Ecosystem to Celebrate One Year Anniversary of Streaming Video Alliance

CENTURY CITY, CA(27 Oct 2015)

The Streaming Video Alliance (SVA), an industry forum comprised of leading companies from the online video ecosystem, today announced the venue for its November General Member meeting: Fox Studios in Century City. The SVA will be celebrating its one year anniversary on the Fox Studios lot at the upcoming quarterly meeting on November 19th. Hollywood is widely considered to be the epicenter of entertainment -- home to some of the biggest stars, studios and streaming video companies in the industry -- making it a prime location for the SVA's largest and most innovative meeting yet. Since its launch in November 2014, the SVA has added over 30 members and established a number of working groups who are defining the future of streaming video.

November's meeting will dedicate a substantial part of the day to working groups, which will break out into separate sessions to make progress on their respective work streams. The meeting will include a tour of Fox Studios and a networking reception on the historic lot. In addition, there will be a keynote by David Wertheimer, President of Digital at FOX Broadcasting. Wertheimer oversees the network's strategy, operations and ventures in digital entertainment and emerging media platforms, including online viewing, websites, apps, games, digital network incubation and audience engagement through social networks.

"The industry is entering an explosive new growth phase with the recent advances in technology and the rise of viewing options for consumers. As a result, companies have to change the way they create, promote, and distribute content," said Thomas Edwards, VP of Engineering and Development at FOX Networks Engineering & Operations. "We look forward to hosting the SVA at our studio for this one-of-a-kind meetup where the industry can come together to make a difference and solve real problems in online video entertainment."

The strain facing the online video industry as a result of the mounting demand is profound. As the perfect storm continues to brew, the SVA is working to create a new open architecture that will help scale streaming video, address operational requirements and improve the quality of experience expected by consumers.

The SVA's full list of members includes: Alcatel-Lucent, Beamr, CableLabs, Cedexis, Charter Communications, Cisco, Comcast, Conviva, EPIX, Ericsson, FOX Networks, Intel, Irdeto, Korea Telecom, Level 3 Communications, Liberty Global, Limelight Networks, MLB Advanced Media, NeuLion, Nominum, PeerApp, Qwilt, Sky, Telecom Italia, Telstra, Time Warner Cable, Ustream, Verizon, Wowza Media Systems and Yahoo!.
