Sonic Foundry Event Services Webcasts Event Camp Twin Cities

Midwest’s first Event Camp partners with Sonic Foundry to webcast hybrid innovative and collaborative conference

Madison, Wis.(08 Sep 2010)

Sonic Foundry, Inc.(NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, today announced that Event Camp Twin Cities (ECTC) will be streaming presentations to online attendees using Mediasite. The event is taking place this week in Minneapolis, Minn.

The conference was created by the #eventprofs Twitter community, and was first held in February in New York. ECTC continues to build upon four key themes established at that event; "Social, Innovation, Collaboration and Experimentation." Virtual and in-person attendees will explore new ways to use event technology to participate in hybrid meetings using social media tools such as Twitter and Slideshare combined with live streaming via Mediasite.

"By partnering with Sonic Foundry Event Services we've taken Event Camp to another level. Streaming with Mediasite allows us to change the way the online community participates and engages by delivering a high-quality stream in the format they want. The Mediasite Players are flexible, and it will make the online community feel more comfortable engaging with us. The combination of all of these things will hopefully make an engaging experience," said Samuel J. Smith, co-founder of Event Camp Twin Cities.

Attendees will have several opportunities to participate, including in-person in Minneapolis, through remote pods in Dallas, Texas and Basel, Switzerland, virtually through an interactive social media portal that includes live webcasts via Mediasite, or by following the conference on Twitter using hashtag #ectc10 or http://search.twitter.com/search?q=ectc10. Among the featured speakers is Erica St. Angel, vice president of marketing at Sonic Foundry. Her presentation, 37 Dynamite Ideas for Keeping the Conversation Going After Your Event will be a collaborative session with participants generating ideas and strategies for leveraging post-event content.

"Our Event Services group grew out of a vision that meetings could be interactive, engaging and facilitate the sharing of knowledge between individuals regardless of time and distance. We commend the creators of Event Camp for sharing our vision, and we're proud to sponsor them as they create an inspiring space - on-site and online - for encouraging people to work together to embrace the future of meetings," said Rimas Buinevicius, chairman and CEO of Sonic Foundry.

The conference will be webcast by Sonic Foundry's Event Services, a leading provider of webcasting for blended conferences and high-profile training events. The group supplies technical webcasting services and expertise to organizations who seek to complement their conference or event with viewing over the web. Since its launch in January 2007, the Event Services group has provided live and on-demand webcasting for clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations and university associations to sporting events and charitable organizations.
