SeaWell Networks, Inc., an award-winning provider of Internet video distribution products, announced today the availability and integration of their newest product, Spectrum, a session-based, adaptive bitrate (ABR) management solution that optimizes and enables content monetization. Spectrum combines subscriber management controls with quality of experience optimizations and on-the-fly file repackaging capabilities for the most personalized video experience available today.
Spectrum is currently being tested by some of the biggest Tier 1 multisystem operators and telecommunications companies in the world. These industry giants continue ongoing evaluations with the solution, as it is a strategic value-adding component of their TV Everywhere, over-the-top and content delivery offerings.
Spectrum personalizes the traditional video delivery process by dynamically managing every connection or session. This enables subscriber controls, metering and billing capabilities, as well as other policy and business rule applications. While managing the video delivery session, Spectrum also allows content deliverers to consolidate their storage and delivery process by repackaging any ABR protocol to any other, including Apple's HLS, Microsoft's Smooth Streaming and Adobe's HTTP Dynamic Streaming platforms.
