RAMP Delivers Scalable and Automated Video Content Spotlighting with Release of RAMP MetaQ

New applications across TVEverywhere, Second Screen and Augmented Television help deliver customer return on investment

Boston, MA/Las Vegas NV(08 Jan 2013)

RAMP, the industry’s leading provider of next generation video and search experiences for major online media publishers, today announced the release of MetaQ, the industry’s first solution for delivering contextually related video content in a scalable, cost-effective manner.

MetaQ is built on top of RAMP’s award-winning MediaCloud platform, which has the ability to ingest, transcribe, and tag huge amounts of video content automatically.  MetaQ is a powerful real-time rule engine, which is able to analyze live and on-demand video content and automatically create dynamic related content and advertising user experiences.  MetaQ has been designed to be compatible with a large spectrum of online video platforms, video players, and broadcast television technologies.

MetaQ has already been successfully deployed with major content publishers and research providers, such as The Peoples’ Choice Awards’ PeoplesChoice.com, Meredith Publishing and Morningstar, Inc.  At PeoplesChoice.com, MetaQ drives the display of celebrity bios, pictures, and related articles when any celebrities are mentioned within of any of its 2,000 award show and red carpet video clips.  At Meredith, MetaQ has been deployed on Better Homes & Gardens’ BHG.com to display related recipe videos during the playback of video content across the site whenever any particular food types or ingredients are mentioned.  At Morningstar, a similar approach is used to display live stock quotes, related topics, and financial charts at the moment they are mentioned in video clips on MorningstarAdvisor.com, its website for financial advisors.

MetaQ delivers strong return on investment for content producers. It can be applied to large content collections without the need to individually craft the related content experience for each video clip, while still allowing for manual editing as required.  RAMP’s powerful proprietary technology automatically identifies people, places, and things in real-time within a video and delivers a cost effective approach to video content spotlighting.   MetaQ customers have experienced between 70%-200% improvement in end- user video consumption, creating advertising revenue opportunities.

“Video has become an incredibly important part of our consumer experience,” said Andy Wilson, SVP Digital Marketing and Audience Development at Meredith Publishing.  “Integrating RAMP’s MetaQ into our video publishing has enabled us to deliver a unique experience while also driving a significant lift in consumption in a scalable, cost effective manner.”

“Our mission at RAMP is to make video more valuable,” said Tom Wilde, RAMP CEO.  “The launch of MetaQ is another critical building block in our vision to help our customers create high growth, profitable businesses around their video content, and is a natural extension of our MediaCloud platform.”
