New York, NY(02 Apr 2013)
MyPod Studios (MPS), a premium online video platform that recorded revenues of $7M in 2012, has acquired a 25 percent stake in Bravo Studios, the owner and operator of three “green screen” video studios in New York City. This strategic partnership delivers new opportunities for exposure, creative and new, combined services for both companies. In particular, it adds high-end creative and production services to the MyPod Studios arsenal, furthering the company’s mission to create original, episodic online video content in short, easy to watch segments.
Effective immediately, MPS has access to Bravo Studios’ creative staff enabling the company to create high-quality, web-centric and interactive pre-roll ads, as well as the ability to offer creative services to content partners. MPS’ stake in Bravo Studios will also allow it to explore new areas for growth, such as the B2B market, by leveraging Bravo's vast B2B client base. For Bravo, the deal offers the opportunity to push beyond production by offering its clients distribution and monetization services.
“Joining forces with Bravo Studios will allow us to improve the pace and quality of our unique productions exponentially,” said Jay Miletsky, CEO of MyPod Studios. “It also enables MyPod to further differentiate by expanding services beyond selling ad space and into creative development and production of branded content and better, more targeted online advertising. For Bravo, the partnership offers an opportunity to push beyond production, and offer clients distribution and monetization services as well.”
Working with Bravo Studios, MyPod Studios has launched three new shows thus far in 2013, building on the five it launched in 2012. The new content includes:
- Top Shelf, featuring some of New Yorks most creative mixologists showing how to make premier drinks.
- Simple Dish, which presents bite-sized episodes featuring expert chefs giving cooking prep guidance.
- Stretching at Work, a unique program presenting exercise tips professionals can do at their desks.
“By producing ‘snack-sized’ bites of professionally produced content, and working with our advertisers to more subtlety integrate their messaging into this content, we feel we have cracked the code on what, when and how people want to view online video, which has been the key to our success since launching in September 2011,” continued Miletsky.
To keep up with its expansion, MPS is actively hiring, looking to increase its current staff of 12 employees to over 20 by the end of the year, with at least four new hires by the end of the second quarter. Bravo Studios’ CEO Tim Donovan, will continue at the helm of Bravo Studios while working closely with MyPod CEO Jason Miletsky on sales and strategy for both companies.
