Tel Aviv, Israel(9/13/2018) -

Building on the success of Beamr HEVC & H.264 video codecs, we are announcing the immediate availability of Beamr Transcoder VOD. With multiple leaders in the market actively using Beamr's encoding and optimization technology, we are excited to make our latest product available to anyone with a valid business email address. With our Free to Start edition and its one-click EULA, any video engineer, business leader, or streaming video professional who wishes to try out Beamr’s codec SDKs in production, can do so by going to beamr.com/free.

The Free to Start edition of Beamr Transcoder VOD comes with all Beamr codecs, including the Beamr 5 HEVC codec SDK recognized for its high performance, flexibility, and quality with unique optimizations for the Intel Xeon Scalable processor family.  With Beamr Transcoder VOD the industry can realize the promise of HEVC, allowing MSOs, streaming services, and vMVPDs to move entirely to HEVC for first and second screen delivery.

"So many vendors have complex evaluation requirements before anyone can trial their software," stated Eli Lubitch, President, Beamr. "For this reason, our Free to Start edition makes it as easy as possible to use Beamr Transcoder VOD in production by removing barriers and offering 100 free hours every month."

Beamr Transcoder VOD users will be pleased to know the product supports ProRes mezzanine input files and resolutions up to 8K 120fps for both input and output file formats; 8, 10, 12-bit, rec 2020 4:2:2 with HDR10 and HLG output; support for HLS and MPEG-DASH, including DRM. Codecs include MPEG-2, H.264, and HEVC input files with H.264 and HEVC output.

Beamr Transcoder VOD is shipping now and available in free and paid editions. Both editions come with the top-rated Beamr 4 H.264 codec, Beamr 5  HEVC codec, and Beamr 5x which includes the industry's first perceptually controlled frame-level content-adaptive rate control CABR.

Video engineers and executives are encouraged to schedule a personal demonstration of Beamr Transcoder VOD at IBC 2018 in Hall 5 C.50.
