Float Left Interactive Launches Next-Generation OTT Engagement Platform

Miami(20 Jan 2015)

Float Left Interactive, a leader in TV application solutions, announced today, in conjunction with NATPE Miami 2015, the launch of FLICS, a solution aimed to help media companies and broadcasters maximize the engagement of their streaming video services.

With an increasing amount of streaming services available to users, it is more important than ever for video service providers to strategize to remain competitive. FLICS is a state-of-the-art platform that enables these brands to drive engagement of their applications and increase brand loyalty by making their streaming services more personalized.

“We are extremely excited to be launching this new solution,” said Tom Schaeffer, CEO of Float Left. “In today’s increasingly competitive landscape, it’s no longer just about reaching the viewer on his or her device, but it’s about delivering a personalized experience that will make individual users keep coming back for more.”

A personalized experience increases individual viewer consumption, which in turn benefits both ad-supported and subscription-based video services, as subscriber retention improves dramatically.

FLICS is now available and includes the following suite of features:

  • Resume – Resume allows a user to pause a show on one device and resume playback on another.
  • Watchlist – Watchlist enables users to save a list of movies and TV shows they want to be able to easily access later.
  • Search – Search indexes a content library and provides immediate, predictive results.
  • Analytics – Analytics gives content publishers insight into viewer engagement across their suite of applications.
  • Ratings – Ratings allows users to rate movies and TV shows on a 1 to 5 star scale, which can be used to determine popular content and improve recommendations.
  • Favorites – Favorites can be used to track a viewer’s favorite programs, which can also be used to improve recommendations.
