Just one year after introducing the Cisco Digital Media System (DMS) as a new emerging technology, Cisco has signed its 200th customer for the integrated digital signage and desktop video system and introduced version 4.1, which provides new features that give even greater flexibility for end users and content managers.
Cisco announced that Accent Jobs For People, an employment and recruiting agency, is Cisco's 200th DMS customer. The rapidly-growing Belgian-based company is using Cisco Digital Signage to communicate in real time in a dynamic and user-friendly way with employees, job candidates and clients across 70 of its offices in Belgium, the Netherlands and France.
"This is a major milestone for Cisco and for the industry as a whole," said Thomas Wyatt, general manager of Cisco's digital media systems business unit. "Video use in business is accelerating rapidly and customers are looking for comprehensive, easy-to-use solutions like DMS. Our customers are using digital media to transform their businesses by creating new revenue streams, delivering more effective communications and lowering operating expenses."
Cisco DMS is a comprehensive solution for the creation, management and access of compelling digital media for digital signage and desktop video. With the Cisco Digital Media System, customers can easily connect and reach their customers, employees, partners, or students anywhere and at any time.
The newest version of the Cisco Digital Media System, 4.1, gives customers flexibility to create customized digital signage screen layouts and provide flexible options for playback. For desktop video, Cisco DMS 4.1 includes slide synchronization for live broadcasts and video-on-demand (VoD) sessions and the ability to manage audience questions during live events.
Cisco is seeing growing momentum in digital media across the globe in all vertical industries, including financial services, retail, healthcare, sports and entertainment, government and education. Cisco has recently announced other new customers using DMS for a variety of applications. Norsk Tipping, the Norwegian lottery, is using the Cisco Digital Media System to deliver timely and targeted marketing to stimulate sales in 4500 retail stores. Bapatla Engineering College in India is using Cisco Desktop Video to virtualize and extend the classroom environment to create anywhere, anytime learning experiences for its students.
