New Appliance Enables Seamless Delivery of DRM-protected Premium Content for Top Content Providers, Enterprises, and Network Operators

November 2, 2010 – Acton, MA – Azuki Systems™, the leading solution for turnkey delivery of premium content to any mobile device over any network, announced from the Streaming Media show today the availability of their new Azuki Wireless Platform (AWP) appliance. The AWP distributes live, on-demand, short-form and long-form DRM-protected video, and other Over-The-Top (OTT) content types. Azuki Systems powers mobile media delivery for some of today’s top media outlets, publishing companies, enterprises and network operators including CBS, FOX Mobile, Sony Music, Sony Pictures, Sports Illustrated, and Sprint.

“The explosive growth of smartphones and pads coupled with the disruptive delivery of OTT has forever changed content consumption and is placing unprecedented stress on today’s networks,” said John Clancy, CEO, Azuki Systems. “The Azuki Wireless Platform enables content and infrastructure providers to capitalize on the OTT revolution by taking all of the challenges and pain out of reaching the 3rd screen to any device over any network.”

“Tellabs powers the smart mobile Internet, where video has already become the dominant bandwidth source,” said Vikram Saksena, CTO of Tellabs. “The AWP enables infrastructure providers to address the exploding market for over-the-top video availability across all major handheld platforms, while at the same time meeting the critical market pull from network operators for an easy to use, cost-effective solution.”

"Already we are seeing the rapid migration of OTT video to mobile devices," said Greg Ireland, Research Manager, Consumer Markets: Video, IDC. "This will only accelerate as more mobile users seek to access increased amounts of premium video content across a range of devices. Enabling solutions for this market must address the many issues that often make mobile content delivery more complex than traditional OTT delivery to the PC."

The following Azuki Systems features are now available in the Azuki 5110 Appliance:

             Content Ingestion & Preparation

             HTTP Adaptive Bitrate Streaming

Digital Rights Management and Customer Authentication
