Lead Media Engineer
Seattle or Bay Area

Job Description:
Reporting to the Chief-Architect and Lead Developer, this position will be responsible for supporting the design and development of a comprehensive cloud-based video application encompassing components that provide streaming video, video device detection and set up, time-code controlled video capture, video transcoding, and video image processing. This is a multi-tier application with system components operating at the desktop, in the browser and on the server. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience with web based applications. The video processing will involve comprehensive functionality including detecting and configure connected video devices such as webcams, performing complex video image analysis and filtering, time-code driven video capture, and prescriptive video stitching and blending, as well as transcoding, compression and streaming.

Qualifications:
This is a hands-on engineering and software development position for a seasoned expert engineer with the proven math and development skills for high-end video image manipulation functionality. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and proficiency within the following areas: • Bachelor is required. Masters or Phd is desired. • 7-10 year successful track working all phases of software development, design patterns and development methodologies. • Expert or proficiency in C, C++, VC++, C#, .Net 3.5/4.0, SOAS, HTML, XML • Strong familiarity working with multiple file formats including FFMPEG, PCM, RTP/RTSP, DTCP-IP, MP4, MP2TS, AVI, H.264, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, MP4, AAC audio, RGB and RGBA • Demonstrated experience with video image processing inclusive of techniques such as alpha blending, pillar boxing, painter’s algorithm, scale and crop, letter boxing and variable frame rates to presentation time, multimedia clocks • Experience with video encoding, streaming and compression, web and media servers, A/V digitalization • Experience with web services, streaming media, encoding and transcoding digital media • Familiarity with working with proven ability to develop software to interact with connected video device hardware (webcam) is a plus • Demonstrated expertise on Windows OS, SQL, Visual Studio, Silverlight required • Experience with iPad and mobile platforms a plus The successful candidate will bring a positive attitude, a passion for innovation and a creative energy to a strong and collaborative team.
