Troy Davis

Chief Packet Pusher

Troy Davis is Chief Packet Pusher at Loudeye Technologies, where he manages Internet operations, including streaming media delivery, connectivity, hosting, and network security. Mr. Davis also conceived and created an industry-leading streaming media data mining tool, a core feature of Loudeye's application suite. Prior to Loudeye, Mr. Davis co-founded and was CEO of Nack.Net, Inc., a Unix and Internet consultancy. He created the company's principle service, a secure, resiliant Internet access technology, and in 1999, Loudeye acquired all assets of Nack.Net. Previously, Mr. Davis designed and implemented server stress testing and benchmarking tools for RealNetworks. A technologist at heart, as co-creator of Netscan.org, a non-profit advocacy site, Mr. Davis helped mitigate the impact of denial-of-service attacks like those perpetrated against Yahoo and eBay. He has authored articles for Streaming Media Magazine and only writes in the third person when requested.
