iBEAM and Veon Partner to Deliver Streaming and E-commerce Solutions

Content delivery company iBEAM (http://www.ibeam.com) announced a partnership with Veon ( http://www.veon.com) to add e-commerce capability to iBEAM's content distribution and advertising platforms.

According to the companies, iBEAM will use Veon's VeonSuite to create, deploy and manage interactive streaming video programming for delivery over the iBEAM Network.

Veon helps developers create clickable video elements to enable advertising and commerce. This can mean that the next time you watch Frasier, you can click on Daphne's dress to get more information or to purchase it. Advertisements aired on the iBEAM Network will also have e-commerce solutions. Viewers will be able to buy items such as consumer electronics, healthcare products and clothing by simply clicking on the product while the ad is playing.

Veon's software will be directly integrated into iBEAM's distributed network infrastructure.

"iBEAM's distribution network combined with Veon's commerce software will allow our content providers to offer viewers rich interactive experiences coupled with the nature of one-to-one interactivity offered by the Internet," said Peter Desnoes, President and CEO of iBEAM. "In working with industry leaders like Veon, this is the first step in positioning the on-line entertainment industry as a powerful platform to promote e-commerce."

Veon also announced a content partnership with MXG Media, a multimedia company that provides entertainment to teen girls and young women. MXGtv will provide e-commerce functionality by providing the ability to embed hot-spotted links within streaming video.
