Wireless Multimedia Companies Looking to Asia

Luxxon Corporation (www.luxxon.com) has announced the addition of two key executives. Nick Pilbeam joins Luxxon as vice president Asia-Pacific, Media Networking, and Ian Ross joins as vice president Europe, Middle East and Africa, Media Networking. Pilbeam and Ross further bolster Luxxon's worldwide presence and will be charged with generating increased global adoption of Luxxon's adaptive rich media technology by wireless operators.

Leading the Media Networking Unit in the Asia-Pacific, Pilbeam brings 18 years of telecommunications experience to Luxxon. Pilbeam has held various positions at major telecom systems companies, including GEC, Octel, Cisco, Sema, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

With more than 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry, Ross will head Luxxon's Media Networking Unit in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and will be charged with building relationships with key wireless operators. Ross has worked with leading companies including ITT, Plessey, Sema Group and Compaq and has extensive knowledge of telecommunications networks and technologies.

In related news, ActiveSky, a wireless multimedia company that offers its own proprietary codec, has announced that it will be opening an office in Tokyo, Japan. ActiveSky states that the Japanese organization will oversee business development, partner relations and licensing initiatives for all Asian markets. Scott France will lead ActiveSky Japan as president.

ActiveSky adds Japan to its list of offices worldwide, including Australia, Europe and the United States.
