Vsoft Signs $2 Million Deal With DreamCom

Vsoft (http://www.vsoft.com) signed a $2 million contract to supply video-on-demand systems to DreamCom, a Korean developer of products for the broadcast industry. The systems will be sold and distributed to schools and universities in Southeast Asia by the end of 2000.

"Vsoft's VideoClick, a total video management and distribution software suite, addresses all the video needs of educational institutions," said Eyal Rom, Vsoft's Vice President for International Sales and Marketing. "Schools and universities in Southeast Asia will now be able to offer students, staff and research teams the full benefits of digital video for distance learning. VideoClick will help them to efficiently acquire live lectures or taped video; easily administer databases of users and content; and accurately disseminate live, scheduled or on-demand video broadcasts of lectures, training films, and presentations."

DreamCom says they want to become a major player in the MPEG market. "We're very pleased to cooperate with Vsoft, a leading supplier of VOD systems," said C.W. Lee, DreamCom's VP of Sales and Marketing. "We believe that VideoClick's unique features will provide powerful, indispensable tools to the educational markets we serve."

Korea-based DreamCom makes the MPEGRich Encoder (http://www.mpegrich.com) for DVD, and other video applications.
