STV Awarded Streaming Media Contract by LA Times

Streaming media company STV (http://www.stv.com) announced it has received a one-year contract from Times Mirror Corporation to provide Internet streaming media services overthe Los Angeles Times' Web site ( http://www.latimes.com).

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

STV's first project is producing three-minute clips every 45 minutesduring the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show, which runs from Jan. 6 through Jan.16 at the downtown Convention Center.

"We are providing a turnkey package to The Times," said Jan Brzeski,chairman and chief executive of STV. "This includes on-site production workas well as encoding and streaming. This project firmly establishes STV asfully competent to provide streaming media services at conventions andexpositions."

Steve Lacy, electronic editor-new media at the Los Angeles Times, said STV was selected to provide streaming media services because ofthe thoroughness shown by the company in evaluating the Times' needs andbecause "STV is servicing live sites featuring streaming audio and videocontent right now."
