ReQuest Ships MP3 Home Stereo Jukebox

Get ready for MP3s coming out of your home stereo.

ReQuest Multimedia ( http://www.request.com) started shipping the AudioReQuest Digital Music System, the first MP3-based home stereo component for consumer.

The first units were shipped on April 22nd.

"Listening to music directly from CDs will soon become a thing of the past," said Steven Vasquez, ReQuest Multimedia's Chief Executive Officer. "We are bringing consumers a convenient and unrestrictive way to enjoy their music. Our Digital Music System (DMS) acts like a central music server, providing quick and easy access to a vast collection of digital music."

AudioReQuest is essentially a hard drive enabled digital jukebox that plays as much as 300 hours of digital music as well as audio CDs. It is also software upgradeable over the Internet or via CDs sent to customers.

AudioReQuest is available now for $799.95.
