Pinnacle and Sorenson Bring QuickTime to StreamFactory

Sorenson Media (www0.sorenson.com) and Pinnacle Systems ( www.pinnaclesys.com) announced on Thursday an alliance to include support for QuickTime within Pinnacle Systems' StreamFactory product line.

StreamFactory is a real-time Web media encoder designed for Webcasting and will use Sorenson Media's Sorenson Broadcaster for Windows, which allows a Windows-based encoder to support Quick Time.

"Sorenson Media has earned an outstanding reputation for high-performance streaming technology,'' said Greg Lowitz, general manager of Pinnacle Systems Webcasting solutions group.

While Sorenson Broadcaster has been a lead encoder for the Macintosh platform, the development of Sorenson Broadcaster for Windows will, according to the company, allow Sorenson to meet a wider spectrum of customers needs.
