Peacock appointed Director of Corporate Communications at AOL UK

Europe's leading multinational Internet, online and e-commerce services provider AOL Europe today announced the appointment of Matt Peacock as thenew Director of Corporate Communications for AOL UK.

Peacock, formerly a Partner with specialist corporate reputation consultancy Regester Larkin, will report to AOL Europe Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer Bill Burrington. He will manage a team of ten, withresponsibility for all communications issues across the AOL, CompuServe andNetscape Online brands.

Over the last year Peacock, 33, had led a Regester Larkin team working forAOL Europe on a number of strategic communications initiatives including thelaunch of new services and pricing schemes as well as the company'shigh-profile 'Stop The Clock' campaign for unmetered flat-rate Internettelephone access. He replaces Maggie Gallant, who has left the company for anew career in the United States.

Prior to joining Regester Larkin in 1998, Peacock spent nine years with BBCNews in a range of national and international front-line reporting roles. Aformer correspondent on some of the UK's most prestigious broadcast news andcurrent affairs outlets, including Today and The World at One on BBC RadioFour, he has reported from more than 20 countries across Central and EasternEurope, North Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Sub-Continent, South-EastAsia and the Far East.

Towards the end of his time with the BBC he specialised in investigativedocumentaries; the revelations from one such investigation led to aParliamentary inquiry.
