Liquid Audio Offers Full-Album Downloads via Road Runner

Liquid Audio and broadband service provider Road Runner have teamed-up to create a special user interface that offers full-album digital downloads through Road Runner's broadband service.

Under the agreement, Liquid Audio will provide Road Runner with music content, e-commerce capabilities and a co-branded area that allows subscribers to access digital music from within the Road Runner service.

"Full-album downloads exploit the full potential of our broadbandservice," said Michael Brady, Road Runner's director of corporate development. "Liquid Audio's digital music platform will make it possible for us to offer the latest major label music in a secure way."

As part of the initial rollout of the service, Virgin Records is making seven previously unreleased live tracks from artist Ben Harper available for full-album download through Liquid Audio. Each song downloaded has been customized to feature a new previously unpublished live photo, special track-specific liner notes written by Ben Harper, and lyrics that can be viewed using the Liquid Player software. In addition, the Charlie Daniel's Band's most recent album, "Road Dogs", will also be available as a full-album download.

The Liquid Player allows consumers to access digital music in a variety of formats, including Liquid Audio, MP3, WAV, AudioCD, and, soon, Windows Media).
