Arel and SGI Form Strategic Alliance
Arel Communications and Software (www.arel.co.il), provider of interactive distance learning solutions, announced that it has formed a strategic alliance with SGI, a producer of high-performance computing technology.
Under the alliance, the two companies are launching a joint learning-on-demand solution, continUlearn. It will make its debut at the WEM conference in Vancouver, Canada. This solution integrates SGI's servers and Kasenna MediaBase media streaming software with the suite of e-learning solutions from Arel. In addition, SGI and Arel will provide professional services.
continUlearn is a browser-based, on-demand learning solution that incorporates synchronized audio, video and multimedia learning capabilities. It provides interactive and rich media content for training sessions that can be delivered to multiple locations via satellite, corporate intranets or broadband Internet.
"The formation of this new alliance further strengthens Arel's strategic penetration into the global e-learning market by combining SGI's international sales force, SGI Professional Services and worldwide market visibility with the integration of the companies' field-proven technologies.'' said Zvi Klier, president of Arel Communications and Software in a statement.
