Adobe to Integrate MPEG DASH Across Entire Lineup
While declining to provide a timeline, an Adobe representative says the company will integrate DASH from its players to its servers.
MPEG DASH, the standardized format for adaptive video streaming over HTTP that will help broadcasters seamlessly move content to digital devices, will be part of the Adobe ecosystem from its player to its servers, says Arjun Saksena, senior project manager in this interview with Beet.TV
Saksena did not provide a timeline for the integration.
Beet.TV interviewed Saksena earlier this month at the IBC conference. Visit Beet.TV's DASH page for additional MPEG DASH stories from IBC.

Use of the adaptive streaming standard is mandated in Europe, just one of the reasons why it's seeing quick adoption by the industry.
Even in a down economy, Amsterdam's IBC conference was able to grow total attendance -- something it's done for the past decade.
Microsoft will help grow the adoption of DASH by integrating it into Azure Media Services, it said at IBC.
MPEG DASH holds promise for simplifying the fractured world of online video delivery, but it's not quite ready for primetime.
